You spoiled ‘mericans and your V8’s.

Well, one car is 800lbs lighter than the other... So of course, it’s a bit more fun :)

Your 2.3 was smogged to death. With a proper cam, carb and header, the Pinto mill is actually quite good.

yeah... that thing had, what, like 80 something hp stock? It could barely get out of it’s own way.

We keep trying to tell you guys but you just wont listen! :) Really though I would want a really nice 4 cylinder if I still had my fox mustang.
And I would never put a v8 in an older escort. The sad thing is we never got them!
I will trade one mk2 escort roller for V8’s but I don’t know the exchange rate. I actually thought of this before doing some kind of deal crate up some mustangs or a bunch of V8’s and ship em to australia for some of their ford turbo I6 engines or England for some escort cosworth rollers or mk2 escorts.
I was drooling over that mk1 escort they built for cheap on wheeler dealers. We didn’t get many cool older compact cars. But maybe I just ignore the falcon and novas because they weren’t rally cars like the escorts.

You know what you maybe right. I know they also use them for dirt track racing its just trying to mod one in a fox body would be expensive and kinda weak compared to just throwing in a 5.0 but I would like to build a rally fox body in the spirit of the old escorts and it would need to pass smog.

Yeah I was wondering how much lighter a escort is than a fox body! The mustang I had was rated at 89hp and with an auto you can imagine the suckitude.
